On November 13, 1942, God sent an angel with snow white wings to claim one of its own, Mrs. Lena Glosup. Never again will we ever behold her sweet smiling face again on this earth, but we have that everlasting sweet consolation that she is resting safe in the arms of Jesus, in that land far better than this, where there will be no death to separate loved ones, no sorrow and no pain. Mrs. Lena Glosup was born August 1, 1872, and departed from this life November 13, 1942, after suffering a heart attack for more than two weeks. Early in life she accepted Christ and united with the Presbyterian Church. When she was twenty years of age, she was united in marriage with George Johnston, who passed on about forty-five years ago. To this union was born two daughters, Mrs. Mildred Cannon and Mrs. Georgia Glossup. Later in years she was married to J. B. Glosup, who now survives, also three step-sons, one step-daughter, Deryl Glosup of Dallas, Horace Glosup of Alpine, John Glosup of San Francisco, California, and Mrs. Bill Hobbs of Jacksonville. She leaves ten grandchildren, one great grandson and ten step grandchildren; one brother, Dee Faison, one sister, Mrs. Sally Pinion, of Lubbock. Funeral services were held at the Peerless Baptist Church, with the Rev. Wade Freeman and Rev. A. J. Van Fuffelen conducting the rites. Burial was followed in the Peerless Cemetery, where she was laid to rest underneath a beautiful mound of flowers. Pallbearers were: George Glosup, John Campbell, Luke Lyle, John Orr, Carl Randolph and L. Campbell.
