Services for Duane Anthony Frauendorfer, 88, of Lindsay, will be held 10 a.m. Friday, Nov. 3, at Holy Family Catholic Church in Lindsay, with burial to follow at Holy Family Cemetery. The wake will be Thursday at Holy Family Catholic Church. Visitation will be 4-8 p.m., with a 7 p.m. rosary. The family will also be available from 9-10 a.m. Friday. He passed away Monday, Oct. 30, 2017, at Boone County Health Center in Albion. Duane was born in Humphrey on May 28, 1929, to parents Anthony and Anna (Vavra) Frauendorfer. He attended school at Cornlea. He married Mary Ellen Knust on Nov. 7, 1951, in Petersburg. He served in the U.S. Army in the Korean War from 1953 to 1955 and was stationed in Germany. He enjoyed farming, gardening and yard work, was a 3rd degree member of the Knights of Columbus and volunteered at LHF Project Center. However, more than anything, he loved spending time with family and grandchildren. He was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church. Survivors include his children and their spouses, Elaine and Jim Jakub of Columbus, Sharon Schaefer of Columbus, Susan and Gene Werner of Lindsay, Mary and Vern Kwapnioski of Columbus, Bonnie and Marc Beller of Columbus, Rick and Jill Frauendorfer of Lindsay and Mike and Kristy Frauendorfer of Humphrey; 27 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild, a sister-in-law; and brothers and their spouses. He was preceded in death his wife, a grandson, his parents, father- and mother-in-law, a sister, a brother, sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law.
