Margaret D. Johnson, 89 of Holdrege, NE passed away Wednesday, August 11, 2021 at Holdrege Memorial Home in Holdrege. Margaret was born October 28, 1931 in Silver Creek, Nebraska to Fred A. and Margaret V. (Eyler) Sowl. She was raised and received her education in Silver Creek and Central City. On February 7, 1976, Margaret was united in marriage to Vernon Johnson in Central City. The couple made their home in Central City where she was employed by Mr. and Mrs. Thomas B. Hord and Mr. and Mrs. George Jensen doing lawn care and snow removal. In 2006, Margaret and her sister, Sharon Sowl were in a very bad accident. Her niece, Merril Millberger and her family moved them closer to them to oversee their care. Left to cherish her memory are her sister, Sharon Sowl of Holdrege; sister-in-law, Carol Sowl of Greeley, CO; as well as many nieces, nephews and extended family and friends. Margaret was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, William, Robert, Donald, and Wayne Sowl; and a sister, Dorothy Styer.
