Norma Jean Vrana February 15, 1937 - August 13, 2021 Norma J. Vrana, 84, of Peoria, Arizona died August 13, 2021 in Glendale, Arizona. Norma was born February 15, 1937 on a farm in Fish Creek in Greeley County, Nebraska to J.Y. and Esther (Siekmann) Sautter. On June 16, 1957 she was united in marriage to John W. Vrana, Jr. When first married they moved around a lot as her husband worked for the Bureau of Reclamation, moving to North Dakota, Texas and then back to Nebraska. Finally in 1963, they moved to Phoenix, Arizona and resided there ever since. Norma worked for several banks throughout her career and finally retired from Bank One in June of 1998. After retiring she went into the antique business and loved going to yard sales, estate sales and auctions looking for a treasured antiques. Norma was a devout Christian and was raised in the Methodist faith. She loved to sing in the choir along with her husband and daughter Tammy and occasionally sang duets with John. Their favorite hymn to sing together was "In the Garden". Norma was preceded in death by loving husband of almost 61 years, John W. Vrana, Jr who passed away May 31, 2018, her parents J.Y. and Esther Sautter, 2 sisters; Louise Voorhees and LaVerna Gydesen, one grandson John W. Vrana, III and a niece, Marjorie Gydesen. She leaves behind to carry her legacy 2 sons; Craig Vrana of Gilbert, AZ and John W. Vrana, II of Hays, Kansas, 2 daughters; Tammy Mascarenas of Show Low, AZ and Sheri McCormick of Peoria, AZ, along with her 9 grandchildren and many extended family members and friends. Norma will be laid to rest with her husband John at the Mt. Hope Cemetery in Scotia, Nebraska. Heritage Funeral Chapel
