Bio

Englebert Joe "E.J." Seith, 81, of West, passed away Monday, Nov. 19, 2007, in Waco. The family will receive visitors from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, Nov. 23, at Aderhold Funeral Home. A rosary will be recited and Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 9:30 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 24, at St. Mary's Catholic Church of the Assumption, with the Rev. Ed Karasek as celebrant. Military graveside rites will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery conducted by West V.F.W. Post 4819. E.J. was born in West, Texas, to the late Joe and Lillian (Jaska) Seith. He attended Leggett School near Cottonwood and on October 31, 1964, he was united in marriage to Evelyn (Kolar) Seith in Bellmead. E.J. served his country in the U.S. Army Air Forces during World War II. He worked as a farmer and also a carpenter during his later years until his retirement. He loved spending time with his grandchildren, Sunday afternoon outings along the countryside, and gardening. He was a member of the American Legion and KJT Society # 31 and St. Mary's Catholic Church of the Assumption. He was preceded in death by his wife, Evelyn, on May 23, 1994; an infant granddaughter, Tonya Seith; and two sisters, Georgia Pavlicek, and Marie Dudik. Survivors include sons, Richard A. Seith and wife, Nannette, of Sugarland, and Robert J. Seith and wife, Kim, of West; daughter, Loretta Ann Cvikel and fiancé, Paul Kucera, of West; grandchildren, Jeremy Seith, Amber Halbert, Ashley Halert, Courtney Halbert, Jamie Cvikel, Justin Cvikel, Brandi Cvikel and Allen Cvikel; one great-granddaughter; and several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
