Funeral services for Jerome E Vacek, 65, of El Maton will be held 10 a. m. Wednesday at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church in Palacios with the Rev. John Pham officiating. Burial will be at Midfield Cemetery in Midfield. Visitation will be until 9 p. m. Tuesday in Bay City and until service time Wednesday at Taylor Brothers Funeral Home in Palacios. Mr. Vacek was born June 6, 1927 in Fairchild to the late Staches and Otillie Fisher Vacek and he died Aug. 16, 1992 at St. Luke’s Hospital in Houston. Survivors include his wife, Martha Brdecko Vacek of El Maton; a son, Jerome Lee Vacek of Markham; four sisters, Beatrice Ferro of Stafford, Tillie Bryan of Houston, Wilma Stieber of Rosenberg and Marcella Stanley of Needville; three brothers, S. E. Vacek of El Maton, Louie Vacek of Palacios and James Vacek of El Maton and six grandchildren, Michelle Vacek, Jason Vacek, Melissa Vacek, Justin Vacek, Kimberly Vacek and Cody Vacek. He was preceded in death by a son, Bernard D. Vacek, April 28, 1991 and by his parents. Arrangements are with Taylor Brothers Funeral Home in Bay City.
