Bio
Joyce Elizabeth Gladson passed away at home surrounded by her loving family on Saturday, July 31, 2021. She was born on February 6, 1958 in Waterloo, Iowa the daughter of Kenneth and Martha (Henderson) Harmon. She graduated from West High School in 1976. Joyce married Stonie Gladson in 1980 at the Sunnyside Temple, in Waterloo. Joyce was a CNA for 40 years, 30 years of that was at Ravenwood. She was known to be a mom to everyone and loved people. Joyce was the corner stone in her family. She was known to also have a great sense of humor. Joyce loved going to church, and enjoyed shopping; especially sales and loved her candy. Her favorites were Maple Nut Goodies and Russell Strover's French Mint, etc. Joyce was a huge fan of Grease and Elvis Presley and before her passing she was able to go visit Graceland in Memphis, TN. She is survived by her husband Stonie; 4 daughters, Kayla Gladson, Jessica Gladson, Samantha Gladson, and Allie Gladson; 1 son, Heath Gladson; 2 brothers, Kenneth "Tracy" (Donna) Harmon and Randy Harmon; grandchildren, Isabella Conaway, Jade Gladson, Clayton Crouse, Mason Gladson and twin Gabriel, Leland Gladson, and Machlyn Gladson; and many nieces and nephews. Joyce is preceded in death by her parents, parents-in-law, grandchildren, Kane Conaway and Leo Gladson, a brother, Gary, and a sister, Marie Jane. A visitation and service will be held at the Crossroads Community Church of the Nazarene on Friday, August 6, 2021. The visitation will be at 10:00 AM with a service to follow at 11:00 AM. Burial will be at the Garden of Memories Cemetery with a luncheon to follow at the church. Memorials may be directed to the family. Arrangements By: Parrott & Wood Chapel of Memories
