Bio
Daughter of Joseph & Adelia (Blohm) Hilger. She graduated from Scotus High School. She married Roger Kapels on September 1, 1973 at St. John's Lutheran Church (LCMS) rural Columbus. She and her family lived on their farm 13 miles north of Columbus until her death. She was a devoted wife and mother and her life centered around the Lord and her Christian family. She particularly enjoyed teaching the children at St. John's Sunday School and Vacation Bible School along with the interaction with the youth at Lakeview Sr. High School in the cafeteria, where she worked as a cook. She cherished her moments on the family farm tendering to her flowers, gardening, and working beside her husband for the past 28 years.
