Bio
Howard James McDonald, 94, went to be with the Lord the morning of July 12, 2021. Born October 13, 1926 in Shelby County to parents Luther and Corin McDonald. Howard was married to the love of his life Betty, for 70 years. Survived by his daughters, Brenda Barta , Belinda Warren and husband Wayne Warren. Grandchildren: Kristi Warren, Ryan Prasek, Travis Warren and wife Ranie, Nicole Burkhalter and husband Nick Burkhalter. Great Grandchildren: Trent Prasek, Tanner Prasek, Emma Warren, Abby Warren, Matt Warren, Braden Burkhalter, Millie Warren and Bree Burkhalter. A devout Christian, Howard loved serving the Lord through Prison Ministries, Homebound Ministries, The Gideons and was a Deacon in the church for many years. He was a WWII veteran and proudly served 25 years in the Houston Police department before retiring in 1974. Howard loved his family and always set an example for them to live by. He will be lovingly remembered and greatly missed by all. Pallbearers for the service include: Wayne Warren, Travis Warren, Trent Prasek, Tanner Prasek, Doug Curtis and Ronald Raborn. Honorary Pallbearers: Branden Burkhalter and Matt Warren. Reverend Jerry Mayfield from Spring Woods Baptist Church will deliver the service. Woodlawn Funeral Home
