Donald L Wright August 8, 1946 ~ June 26, 2021 Donald L. Wright, 74 of Amarillo passed away Saturday, June 26, 2021 in Amarillo. The rosary will be read at 6:30 pm Thursday, July 1, 2021 at Minton Memorial Chapel in Borger. Funeral mass will be 2:00 pm Friday at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Borger. Burial will be in Westlawn Memorial Park under the direction of Minton Chatwell Funeral Directors of Fritch. Donald will lie in state Tuesday and Wednesday at the Minton Chatwell Funeral Home in Fritch. Donald was born August 8, 1946 in Amarillo to William and Gertrude (McCandles) Wright. He married Linda Kay Cloninger July 30, 1966 in Amarillo. Don worked for Pioneer Natural Gas from 1967 to 2003. He then owned Wright's Transportation Service for 10 years serving many funeral homes. Don loved his birds and animals, and working in his yard. and especially loved his grand kids. He helped in founding the Pioneer Promenaders Square Dancer's where he was a caller. Don was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Amarillo. He taught 7th grade religion at St. John the Evangelist Church. Preceeding him in death are his parents, father-in-law and mother-in-law Jaynes and Clara Cloninger ; also his brother-in-law Jim Pinson. Surviving is his loving wife Linda; sons, David Alan Wright and wife Katharine of Ft Worth, Kenneth Dale Wright and husband Bo of Oklahoma City; daughter, Dana Marie Bonistalli of Ellicott, MD; sister, Linda Pinson of Alamogordo, NM; brother-in-law, Dwain Cloninger; sister-in-law, Carolyn Rose Sullivan; grandchildren, Isabella and Amelia Bonistalli, and Davis and Conner Wright.
