Gertrude Wright, 89, of Amarillo, Texas, died Tuesday, March 28, 2006, in Amarillo. Funeral Service will be held Friday, March 31, 2006, at 10 a.m. at the United Methodist Church on 10th Avenue , with Reverend Tommy Ewing officiating. Interment will follow in Llano Cemetery. Arrangements are by Rector Funeral Home-Osage Chapel, 2800 South Osage, Amarillo. Wright was born in Fredrick, Okla., and had lived in Amarillo for over 65 years. She married Willie B. Wright on Aug. 7, 1937. He preceded her in death on Dec. 11, 1979. She worked as a cook for the Silver Grill Cafeteria for over 16 years, and later went to work for Northwest Texas Hospital. She was a member of 10th Avenue United Methodist Church and was a member of United Methodist Women. She is survived by a daughter, Linda Pinson, and her husband, Jim, of Alamogordo.; a son, Don Wright and his wife, Linda, of Fritch, Texas; a sister, Katie Brown, of Wichita Falls, Texas; a brother, John McCandless, of Carlsbad; five grandchildren, Jimmy Pinson and his wife Susan, of Alamogordo; Scott Pinson, of Alamogordo; Dana Bonistalli and her husband John, of Ellicott City, Md.; David Wright and his wife Katharine, of Amarillo, and Kenneth Wright, of Oklahoma City, Okla; and eight great-grandchildren, Aubrey, Torey, and Lynda Kay, Sierra Pinson, Isabella and Amelia Bonistalli, and Davis and Conner Wright. In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial donations be made to BSA Hospice, 200 NW 7th, Amarillo, TX 79107.
