L. C. Dotson 1924 – 2010 SHREVEPORT, LA - L.C. Dotson entered peacefully into eternal rest on Saturday, March 20, 2010 after a brief illness. Services will be held Saturday, March 27 at 1:00 p.m. at Trinity Heights Baptist Church, 3820 Mooringsport Road in Shreveport. A reception in the church fellowship hall will follow the service. Reverend Randy Riley will officiate. L.C. was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 63 years Doris Elaine Dotson who passed away January 7, 2010, his son, Charles Edwin "Ed" Dotson of Kingwood, Texas, and his parents Mr. and Mrs. Edwin Bush Dotson of McKinney, Texas. He is survived by his daughter, Donna Dotson Harrison of Carrollton, Texas and his only sister, Mrs. William A. (Helen) Snider of McKinney, Texas. L.C. was born March 15, 1924 in McKinney, Texas. His formative years were spent in the McKinney and Allen areas. He was a WWII veteran serving in the U.S. Army Headquarters Battery 473 Division Antiaircraft Artillery AW Battalion from February 1943 through March 1946. After discharge, he returned to his home in McKinney Texas and enrolled in North Texas State University in Denton, Texas. During that time he met Doris Elaine Rickerson, and they were married in June 1947. Shortly after their marriage, L.C. and Elaine moved to Norman, Oklahoma where he completed his B.S. in Petroleum Engineering in May 1951. The early years of his career were spent in South Louisiana relocating to Shreveport, Louisiana in 1955 which became his lifelong home. During this time he and Elaine raised their children. L.C. and Jim Ledlow of Lafayette, LA and formed Louisiana Well Testing and Engineering Service Inc. Later he would establish Dotson Engineering Co. where he would continue to invest his time until his retirement in March 1995. L. C. was a dedicated husband and father. He was well respected in his profession and was known for his honesty and integrity in his business life. He will be greatly missed by friends and family. The family would like to thank Dr. James Jackson, the caring staff of Cornerstone Hospital of Bossier, Jasmin Myers, and Denice Jones for their loving care during these last few months.
