Pallbearers were Pallbearers were Paul Vacek, Jacob Vacek, Richard Moring, Daniel Sedlar, Patrick Henke and Hilbert Henke. Honorary pallbearers were Wilbert Olsovsky, Henry Kutac and Ramon Mozima. Born on Aug. 20, 1946 in Schulenburg, he was the son of Jim and Francis (Tupa) Okruhlik. He served his country in the military from Dec. 8, 1965 to Dec. 7, 1967. On Sept. 22, 1968, he married Bobbie Nelson at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church. He lived in Fayette County for 52 years and worked as a machinist. He was a member of the St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church, Veterans of Foreign Wars and American Legion. Daniel never met a stranger – he enjoyed striking up a conversation to learn more about people he met. And if he was meeting someone for the first time locally, he was quick to "connect the dots" on how he went to school with their uncle or knew their grandparents. It brought him great joy to meet someone new. His good heart also purchased many meals for the hungry or gas for those passing through so they could make it home safely. He didn't have a lot, but was always sure those in need did not go without. Survivors include his wife, Bobbie Okruhlik of Schulenburg; two daughters, Michelle Reid and husband Stephen of Prosper, and Tammy Edwards and husband Shawn of Caldwell; two sons, Michael Okruhlik and wife Jolecelle of Katy, and Shannon Okruhlik and wife Kristy of LaVernia; and nine grandchildren. Preceding him in death were his parents, Francis and Jim Okruhlik; a sister, Margie Vacek; and a granddaughter, Renee Okruhlik. Schwenke-Baumgarten Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
