Services for Earl Walker will be held at 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, May 8, 2013 at Hilliard Funeral Home with Steven Hill officiating. A graveside service will follow at Union Chapel Cemetery. Grandchildren will serve as pallbearers. Mr. Walker passed away at the age of 87 on May 4, 2013 in Mineola. Robert Earl Walker was born May 23, 1925 in Dallas, Texas to the late William R. Walker and Della Lee Bolden Walker. He married his beloved wife, Vera Dean on August 2, 1947, and they were married for almost 65 years before she went to be with our Lord on July 10, 2012. He served in the U.S. Navy during WW II, and worked as a carpenter. He had been a resident of Garden Valley most of his life, while currently living in Mineola. He was a member of Van Church of Christ. He was affectionately known as Papa, Pop, Great Pop Hog. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Vera Dean Pool Walker parents, William R. Walker and Della Lee Bolden Walker sisters, Myrtle Baugus, Opal Donica and Winnie Bond and brothers, Jay Walker, Quil Alan Walker, Raymond Walker and Frank Walker. Survivors include his two daughters, Norma McDonald of Mineola, and Fredda Carr and husband, Jack of Crosby special nephew, Billy Pool of Mineola sisters, Billie Jean Hilbert and Juanita Jones six grandchildren and their spouses, Elisha Walt, Cynthia Jon Szolyga, Mark Nancy Walt, Julie Bryan Seeley, Jake Kathryn Carr, and Robert Darla Carr eleven great-grandchildren, Stephen Morris, Joseph Morris, Hannah Guajardo, Brittany Seely, Austin Szolyga, Krista Szolyga, Arrykka Thacker, Kimberly Carr, Jacob Carr, Kaitlyn Carr, Sydney Carr and one great-great-granddaughter, Alica Thacker.
