Bio
Norma Jean Pohl (Pelan) died October 5, 2018. Norma was born in Ulysses Nebraska, November 11, 1928 to Anton and Tillie (Hamsa) Pelan. She attended a rural elementary school and graduated from David City High School in 1945. Upon graduation, she taught school in Butler and Seward County. Norma married Ray Pohl in 1948 and lived in Columbus, Nebraska for several years. Norma and Ray moved to Hastings, Nebraska in 1971 and she worked in the Morton Elementary School lunch program. In 2012, she moved to Omaha, Nebraska to be closer to family. Norma was preceded in death by her parents, husband Ray, and brother Dennis Pelan. She is survived by her daughter Sue Merryfield (David) of Virginia Beach, Virginia, and son Scott Pohl (Mary) of Omaha, Nebraska. Grandchildren Jessica Blanford (Adam) of Westminster, Colorado, Alex Merryfield (Stephanie) of Carmel, Indiana, Heather and Josh Pohl of Omaha, Nebraska. Great grandchildren Elias and Cora Blanford.
