On stone with Bobby Joe Jowers Services for Clydos Ann Jowers, 77, of Brownfield will be at 10 a.m., Wednesday, March 12, at Calvary Baptist Church with Rev. Steve Carter, Rev. Henry Shelton and Rev. Johnny Long officiating. Burial will be in the Terry County Memorial Cemetery under the direction of Brownfield Funeral Home. There will be a family visitation at Brownfield Funeral Home from 5 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday. Ann passed away Sunday, March 9, 2014, at her home in Lubbock. She was born May 10, 1936, to T.H. and Rosa (Evett) Dill in Tipton, OK. Clydos married Bobby Joe Jowers on Jan. 13, 1954, in Brownfield. They were married for 55 years before his death in 2009. Ann was known as the first female to publicly file a tax return in the state of Texas, and was the founder and owner of Jowers Tax Service until retiring in 2010. She served on the Terry County Hospital Board for many years. She loved to garden, sew, cook and make jewelry. Her greatest joy was the love of her life, Bob, and their beautiful family. She was known to her friends as Ann and her family as Granny. She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; six brothers, Dee, Thomas, Harrison, Rufus, Jay Van and S.M. Dill; and five sisters, Bertha Brock, Clara Lowe, Irene Brown, Alma Jean Yost and Christine Purser. Ann is survived by her three children, eight grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, three great-great-grandchildren, a brother. She was expecting another great-grandson, in June, and a great-grandchild in September. Published in the Lubbock Avalanche Journal on March 11, 2014
