Bio
James E. Tomlin, Jr., 57, of Virden, died on Saturday, May 22, 2021 at Memorial Medical Center. He was born on March 7, 1964, the son of James Sr. and Betty (Cumby) Tomlin. James graduated from New Berlin High School. He went on to become a truck driver for many years. James enjoyed racing with Shane and Carter, tractor-pulling with Tye, cooking out, spending time with his family—especially his grandchildren, and attending car shows. He was preceded in death by his parents; nephew, Brian Austin Tomlin; niece, Ashley Tomlin; and three uncles, Clarence, Everett "Zeb," and James Cumby. James is survived by his daughter, Amy (fiancé, Ryan Sexton) Tomlin of Riverton; son, Shane (Laura) Tomlin of New Berlin; grandchildren, Carter, Avery and Presley Tomlin; brothers, Brian (Laura) Tomlin of Athens and Elvis (Michelle) Tomlin of Auburn; two aunts; and his companion, Alicia Yancey of Auburn. Burial will take place at Berlin Cemetery at a later date.
