Bio
Robert D. Blalock, 87, a World War II veteran, passed away Monday, Oct. 15, 2007 in Springtown. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Thursday at White's Springtown Chapel. Burial will follow in Springtown Cemetery. Visitation is 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at White's Funeral Home. Robert Blalock was born in Lavern, Okla., the son of Hinton and Rosa Blalock. He retired from El Paso Natural Gas after more than three decades of service. Mr. Blalock moved to Springtown after his retirement. He was a member of Community Bible Fellowship. Mr. Blalock was proud to have helped build La Junta Baptist Church. Survivors include wife, Anna Blalock; daughters, Sonnie Simmons (Jack), Judy Parch (Mike); son, Leslie Blalock (Lea); grandchildren, Scott Simmons, Jennifer Brown, Bryan Parch and David Blalock; and sister, Dora Brown.
