Burial was in Blue Branch Cemetery, Pitkin. The Revs. Gary Johnson and Larry Burris officiated under direction of Hixson Funeral Home, DeRidder. Johnson, of Pitkin, died Monday in the V.A. Hospital in Alexandria. He was a cattle farmer for many years and owned and operated Vera Johnsons Grocery and Gas Station. Survivors include his wife, Vera Beeson Johnson, Pitkin; two sons, Horace Johnson Jr., Apex, N.C.; and C.M. Johnson, Pitkin; one daughter, Delores J. Nelson, Pitkin; one brother, T Harold W. Johnson, Village Mills, Texas; six sisters, Ida Wisby, Walnut Hill; Emma Middleton, Arlington, Texas; Girlie Mienke, Bay City, Texas; Mamie Tyner, Houston, Texas; Allie Lightfoot, Houston, Texas; Pearl Fisher, Kerriville, Texas; and five grandchildren.
