Bio

James Douglas Murphree, 83, of Oneonta, AL., passed away on May 12, 2021 at Riverview Medical Center. He was a member of Antioch United Methodist Church. His hobbies included farming, picking the guitar and raising livestock. He retired from Hayes Aircraft after many years of service. Preceding him in death were his parents George and Autery Goodwin Murphree; sisters Conette Earnest (Bill) and Helen Hartley. He leaves behind to cherish his memory his wife Dian Murphree; children Natalie Rudd (Nathan), James Everett Murphree and Melissa Davenport; grandchild Abigail Gregerson (Justin); siblings Marcelle Whited (Gene), Doris Foster (Butch) and Norris Murphree; and a host of nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends on Monday, May 17, 2021 at the Antioch United Methodist Church from 1 PM until 2 PM with Bro. Paul Hicks presiding.
