Mrs. Helen M. Hartley, age 71, of Oneonta, Alabama passed away on August 17, 2014 at her residence. She was a lifelong member of United Methodist Church and Lester Memorial United Methodist Church since 1971. She loved being outside and enjoyed gardening both vegetables and flowers. She loved her family second only to God. She loved the beach and para-sailing and sewing and crocheting. She worked as a Sales Clerk for Wal-Mart. She is preceded in death by parents, George and Autrey Murphree; husband, Lee Wayne Hartley; daughters, Cynthia Leigh Hartley and Suzette Lynn Hartley; and sister, Conette Earnest. Mrs. Hartley is survived by daughter, Pamela Renee Hartley of Oneonta; brother, Norris Murphree of Oneonta; sisters, Marcelle Whited (Gene) of Oneonta and Doris Foster (Butch) of Auburn. Bro. Barry Hallman, Bro. Derrick Hartley and Bro. Chris Hartley will officiate funeral services on Thursday, August 21, 2014 at 2PM from Lester Memorial United Methodist Church with burial following at Oak Hill Cemetery. Mrs. Hartley will lie in state at Lemley Funeral Home on Wednesday, August 20, 2014 from 6PM until 8PM and on Thursday at the church from 12 Noon until service time. Pallbearers: Norris Murphree, Steve Hartley, Matthew Hartley, Alan Cheney, James Williams, Hal Buckelew, Don Rayfield and Dr. Joe Hastings. [Long Family Funeral Homes obit via internet]
