Daughter of Joe Chew and Ina Frances Bagley. Obituary: Helen Vaniece Selsor, daughter of Joe Chew and Ina Francis (Bagley) Chew was born March 25, 1923 in Murray, Iowa and passed from this life Saturday, August 17, 2013 at Southern Hills Specialty Care in Osceola, Iowa at 90 years of age. Helen grew up in the Murray area where she attended Murray High School. She was united in marriage to Paul Arthur Selsor on August 18, 1940 at Murray, Iowa. This special union has lasted nearly seventy-three years and was blessed with two children, Karen and Danny. Helen and Paul moved to Des Moines in 1951 and Helen worked for Farm Bureau Insurance in Des Moines for 25 years. Following their retirement, Helen and Paul moved to the farm they loved to enjoy their later years. Helen was a member of the Hopeville Ladies Auxiliary. She enjoyed fishing, gardening, working in flower beds, feeding and watching the birds, playing pool, crocheting, crafts and traveling with Paul. Helen and Paul also enjoyed dancing together and watching baseball. So much so that they ventured to many Royals games in Kansas City. Those relatives who preceded Helen in death were her parents, Joe and Ina Francis Chew; only two weeks ago, her husband, Paul Arthur Selsor. Also preceding was her mother-in-law, Birdetta Selsor and father-in-law, Steven Selsor; grandson, Danny Paul Selsor II; sister, Willene Davis; brother, Cecil Montelle Chew; brothers-in-law, Burton Selsor, Elmer Selsor, Edward Selsor and Glen Davis; sisters-in-law, Opal Arlene Kirkwood, Mabel Swaim, Minnie Siefkas, Viola Davis, Pauline Baker, Bessie Siefkas and Mildred Chew. Helen leaves to cherish her memory; daughter, Karen (Allen) Perry of Mandeville, LA, son, Danny (Cathy) Selsor of Des Moines, IA; four grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren,
