Louis Joseph Vontur, Jr., went to be with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on April 29, 2021 at the age of 83. Louis was born in Floresville, Texas on July 29, 1937 to Louis and Emma (Gassmann) Vontur, Sr. He married Lorraine Margaret Kappelmann in San Antonio, Texas on October 17, 1959. They were blessed with two children, two grandchildren and four great grandchildren. They were married more than 61 years. Louis worked as a steel furniture fabricator and after retirement enjoyed gardening, bowling, and dancing. Louis was preceded in death by his parents and brother-in-law, Jimmy Valcher. He is survived by his wife Lorraine; children, Steven R. Vontur (Laurie) and Suzanne V. Shore (James); grandchildren, Steven A. and Misty G. Vontur; great-grandchildren, Khloe Vontur, Colton Vontur, Farrah Funari, Tyler Funari; siblings, Thomas Vontur (Marie), Patricia Valcher, Kenneth Vontur (Mary Ann), Richard Vontur; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. A visitation with family and friends will take place Tuesday, May 4, 2021 from 5:00 PM – 8:00 PM at Finch Funeral Chapel, La Vernia, with Rosary being recited at 7:00 PM that same evening. At this time the family is asking everyone to practice social distancing and wear face covering during services.
