Bio

Have seen her name as Anna Ellen Servoss. She was in the 1880 census with her youngest son Ira but by 1885 census Ira is on his own and there is no record of Ellen. She probably died between 1880 and 1885 near Postville, Iowa. The newspaper article has her death as December 14, 1884. In the newspaper article the Mrs. Thomas Harris is her daughter Louise Susan Tryon (Harris) and Mrs. S. C. Perry is her daughter Mary Elizabeth Tryon (Perry). Servoss is most likely her maiden name but have also seen as Serviss, Service, Suvos, Servas and Servos. Ellen married Henry Tryon on October 22, 1840 in Glen, Montgomery, New York. Ellen and Henry had six children together : Nancy, Erastus, Mary, Watson, Louise and Ira. At this time her place of burial is unknown. She may be buried at Arlington Cemetery in Arlington, Fayette, Iowa. The cemetery was also called the Brush Creek Cemetery and the Groat Pioneer Cemetery. There are no original records left, only new records of what headstones are still there.
