Donald K. "Don" Whimpey 1950 - 2021 Early Life: Don was born September 24, 1950, in Lehi, Utah, to Kenneth D. and Lexie Fern Ault Whimpey. He graduated from Lehi High School. Life's Work | Service | Interests: Don went into several careers, including owning his own business, a car salesman for 21 years at Gene Harvey Chevrolet, and an insurance agent until he retired. Don was passionate about running and personal growth. His passion led him to many different races, including St. George Marathon and Boston Marathon. In 2007, Don was involved in a car accident that left him in a wheelchair. He learned he would probably never walk again and figured his days of running were over for good. He was determined to prove these thoughts wrong, and through hard work and determination, learned how to walk again with the help of a walker and then a cane. Over time, he was able to run again. He has shown his loved ones what perseverance is, an example they will always remember in their hearts. Donald K. "Don" Whimpey, 70, left his earthly body to begin his journey to his eternal marathon on April 5, 2021, in Orem, Utah, surrounded by his five children, mother, and sisters.
