Bio

POSPISIL, Elsie Ann (Matysek) Elsie Ann Matysek Pospisil, age 88, passed away on April 9, 2014. She was born on June 1, 1925 to J.J. and Josephine Zbranek Matysek and grew up with six brothers and one sister on the family farm outside Granger, Texas. In 1947, Elsie married the love of her life, Joe Pospisil, and they moved to South Austin in 1951. They were married 58 wonderful years until Joe passed in 2005. They leave behind four children-Diane Wright, Bobby Pospisil, Kathy Martin (Milt), and Nancy Deauville (David). Their grandchildren are Michelle Grona (Bobby), Amy Selman (Russell), Ryan Logue, Clay Logue, Jordyn Logue, Dylan Pospisil, and Paulina Pospisil. She also leaves behind a great grandson - Robert Grona - and two brothers - Joe Fojtik and Edwin Matysek - as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and neighbors. Elsie was a homemaker who frequently worked beside her husband. She was a member of KJZT, PTA, St. Ignatius Women's Club, and volunteered at St. Ignatius Catholic School where her children attended elementary school. She was proud of her Czech heritage and was a wonderful baker and cook known for her pies, cookies, cakes, and canned vegetables from her beautiful gardens. The family wishes to thank the wonderful staff of Orchard Park Kyle for their loving care as well as Hospice Austin for making her final weeks more comfortable. The family will receive friends from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M., Sunday, April 13, 2014 in the Chapel of Cook-Walden/Forest Oaks Funeral Home with a Recitation of the Rosary at 7:00 P.M. A Funeral Mass will be at 10:00 A.M., Monday, April 14, 2014 at St. Ignatius Martyr Catholic Church, 126 W. Oltorf with Father James Martin, Celebrant. Burial will follow at 1:00 P.M. at Calvary Cemetery in Granger, Texas. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Elsie's memory to St. Ignatius Catholic School, 120 W.
