Bio

Joyce Petska 1926 - 2021 Carlsbad, CA Joyce Petska passed away on February 17 at Rose Garden Assisted Living. Born in St. Paul, Nebraska, as one of 13 children, she has one surviving brother. She is preceded in death by her husband of over 60 years, James, and daughter, Sandy. Joyce is survived by her son Kenneth and his wife Jannine, daughter Cindy Meritt, seven grandchildren, and 11 great-grandchildren. Joyce started her career as a switchboard operator and retired from Pacific Bell as a supervisor after 26 years. Joyce was loved by all who knew her, and she will be dearly missed. Graveside service will be held on March 28 at Eternal Hills in Oceanside at 10:00 a.m. Masks are required. Published in San Diego Union-Tribune on Mar. 21, 2021.
