Robert M Ermis Robert M. Ermis, 59, passed away on March 24, 2013 in Houston, Texas. He was born on May 1, 1953 in Refugio, Texas to Julius Charles Ermis and Leona Stuchly Ermis. Robert was a kind and generous son, brother, uncle, cousin and friend, a man with a love of his Czech heritage, his Catholic faith and music. He was a gifted singer and musician who had performed with Kovanda's Czech Band, various choirs including St. Anne's and St. Cecilia's Catholic Churches, the Diocesan choir and the Houston Symphony. In 1992 he was awarded the Texas Male Czech Singer of the Year. He had a wonderful sense of humor and was eccentric in his own way. Preceded in death by his parents, he is survived by his brothers, Edward Ermis and his wife Sandye and J. C. Ermis, Jr.; his sisters, Gloria Martin, Anna Wealty and her husband Douglas, Joyce Wolak and her husband Brian and Pamela Heine and her husband Robert; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and many loving family members and friends. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, March 26, 2013 from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM with a Rosary Service at 7:00 PM in the chapel at Waltrip Funeral Directors, 1415 Campbell Road, Houston, Texas 77055. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, March 27, 2013 at 10:00 AM at St. Anne Catholic Church, 2140 Westheimer Road, Houston, Texas 77098. In lieu of flowers, donations in Robert's memory may be made to St. Anne Catholic Church or Food for The Poor, P.O. Box 979005, Coconut Creek, Florida 33097 www.foodforthepoor.org. He was a kind, sincere and devoted man whose smile brought joy to those he touched. His musical talent will embrace us forever.
