Whitney Messenger June 28, 1985 Melvin M. Myers Melvin M. Myers, 66, of Blum, died early Tuesday morning, June 25 in the Whitney Hospital. Graveside services were held at 10 a.m. Thursday, June 27 at the Pleasant View Cemetery near Whitney with J.M. Applegate officiating. Mr. Myers was born August 24, 1918 in the Blum Community, the son of Clarence M. and Ida Ripley Myers. He was a ginner. He is survived by one son, Don Myers, of Port Viceng, La; one daughter, Kay Steacy of Baton Rouge, La,; three sisters, Annie Mae Engledow of Blum, Ura Lee French of Cleburne and Frances Lipscomb of Ft. Worth and four grandchildren.
