Jerry Trojacek, beloved father, grand-father, and great grand-father passed away peacefully at his home wrapped in the love of his family, February 26th, 2021. He was 91 years old. He was born on September 16th, 1929, and was the 9th of thirteen children born to Anton J. and Frances (Vrla) Trojacek of Creechville Road, Ennis, Texas. attended Creechville schools and graduated from Ennis High School in 1947 while working part-time at Ennis State Bank. After graduation he worked full time at Ennis State Bank until his enlistment into the US Air Force in 1948. A courtship that started on farms across Creechville Road continued while at Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio while his to be wife was in nursing school. He married Mary Frances Betik on August 5, 1950 at St. John Nepomucene Catholic Church. They soon moved to Cheyenne, Wyoming where he was stationed at Warren AF base. After serving his 4 years he received his Honorable Discharge and in 1952 they moved to Dallas, Texas. He worked for Cabell's Milk and Mrs Baird's Bread. In 1962, they bought the farm in Ennis, Texas which remained home for the rest of their lives. Jerry and Mary worked side by side in the trials, challenges, and pleasures of farm life raising a variety of animals and cultivating an assortment of crops. Their green thumbs definitely shined as they truck farmed and grew a wide range of fresh herbs and vegetables that they sold at the Dallas Farmers Market. After the truck farm, they started together the 9T Farms Nursery which they owned and operated for over 20 years. The nursery was one of the largest in the area and customers came from over a hundred miles. They had trees, shrubs, plants, flowers, and vegetables of all kinds. During retirement years, Jerry and Mary loved to travel, enjoyed farm life and their weekly devotion to the Sacred Heart. They went to Europe, and visited most of the United States. They had scrap books for each of these adventures. He enjoyed raising his cattle and sheep. Just a couple of days before he passed away he was enjoying one of his greatest pleasures - driving his Gator through the pastures and around the farm checking the cows, and sheep. He loved his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. They all brought him tremendous joy. He is survived by their 7 children: Donna Isom (Larry), Gary (Karen), Rick, Joan, Mary Bruce (Richard), Chris, and Jeff (Melanie). Nine grandchildren and fifteen great-grandchildren.
