Bio

Funeral services for Mrs. Jo Mae Johnson, 77, of Leesville, will be held at 2 p.m. today, April 4, 2004 in the Providence Baptist Church with Rev. Charles Best and Rev. Al Bailey officiating. Burial will follow in Johnson-Bailey Cemetery under the direction of Hixson Funeral Home of Leesville. Visitation was held from 6 to 10 p.m. Saturday and will be held from 8 to 11 a.m. today at the funeral home, and after 1 p.m. Sunday until time of service at the church. Mrs. Johnson died Friday, April 2, 2004 in Christus St. Francis Cabrini Hospital in Alexandria. She was a native and lifelong resident of the Providence-Vernon Parish area, a member of the Providence Baptist Church and was a retired meat wrapper. She was preceded in death by her husband, C.B. Johnson, and two sons, Benson W. Johnson and Jimmie E. Johnson. She is survived by one daughter, Jolene Lawrence of Leesville; one son, Benny Joe Johnson of Alexandria; eight grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.
