Robert Wayne “Bobby” Polasek, 71, of Clemville, Texas passed away after a brief illness on Monday, February 22, 2021 in El Campo, Texas. Bobby is survived by his wife of 45 years, Martha Ann Polasek; his sister, Rosie Cunningham and spouse, James, of Wharton, Texas; nephew, Allen Cunningham and wife, Kerrie; nephew, Chad Polasek and wife, Cherie; niece, Shelly Brice; many great-nieces and great-nephews; family member, Sheila Hargis; sisters-in-law, Cynthia Grandjean (Victor), Marilyn Shipman (Gary), Angie Dvorak; and brother-in-law , Tony Dvorak. Bobby leaves behind his close and devoted friend of many years, Don Danford. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ludwig and Olga Polasek; and brother, Joe Polasek. Bobby graduated from Brazosport High School in May 1967. He graduated from James Connally Technical Institute in December 1968 as an automotive specialist. He attended Wharton County Junior College. He worked as an auto mechanic at Albert Berry Motors Volkswagen in Katy. From there, he went on to employment with US Contractors in Clute, Texas. Bobby continued working in auto mechanics and became a welding machine specialist, eventually retiring from US Contractors. Bobby faced many physical challenges in his life. As a child he was a patient at Shriner’s Children’s Hospital for post-polio therapy. With a persistent drive and determination, he was successful in overcoming many hurdles on his life journey. With Martha by his side, he liked being outdoors hunting, camping, fishing, gardening and living by the lake, riding in his red golf cart and mud racing his Volkswagens. He enjoyed attending Wurst Fest, going to dances as well as participating in his favorite hobby of all- playing in domino tournaments. In years past, he and Martha enjoyed catching up with friends and family at church picnics and barbeques. He was blessed to be able to enjoy many friends that he met during his 71 years. We shall remember his smile, love of laughter and wonderful sense of humor. …like an eagle that stirs…the Lord alone led him… Deuteronomy 32: 11-12 The family would like to thank the staff of Matagorda General Hospital, the Garden Villa Rehabilitation Center and Houston Hospice - El Campo for their loving care of Bobby and support to Martha. Graveside services at Damon Catholic Cemetery, will be held at a later date.
