Bio
Ludwig Joe Polasek (Papa Joe), 73, of Freeport, TX passed away unexpectedly, but peacefully on Friday, June 23, 2017 at UTMB Hospital in Galveston. Joe was born in LaGrange, TX on April 6, 1944, but lived most of his life in the Brazosport area. Joe is preceded in death by his father, Ludwig Polasek and mother, Olga Polasek. Joe was extremely loving and proud of his family including, son, Chad Polasek and his wife Cherie; daughter, Shelly Brice; grandson, Jared Polasek and his wife Chancy; grandson, Colby Polasek; great-granddaughter, Brylie Polasek. He is also survived by his sister, Rosie Cunningham, and her husband James; brother, Bobby Polasek and his wife Martha; nephew, Allen Cunningham and his wife Kerrie; and extended family. Joe was a loving father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend to all. Joe graduated Brazosport High School in 1962, then attended Wharton Junior College, then transferred to University of Houston where he played baseball and received an Associate's degree in Mechanical Technology. He worked as a draftsman/estimator most of his life. Joe loved to hunt, fish and spending time with his family and friends. He was full of life, one of a kind, happy man who never met a stranger and enjoyed talking to all. He leaves behind a legacy of love with wonderful memories. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, July 22, 2017 at Stroud Funeral Home in Clute, with a food reception immediately following at Surfside Marina.
