Published in The Huntsville Times, Huntsville, AL, Wednesday, November 8, 2000. Shelby Jean Wales, 64, died Monday at an Athens hospital. The funeral will be Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Spry Funeral Home with burial in Pettusville Cemetery. Mrs. Wales was a native of Limestone County, a homemaker and a member of the New Bethel Baptist Church. Survivors include her husband, Raymond Wales Jr.; one son, Toney Wales of Elkmont; three sisters, Maxie Hargrove of Athens, Geneva Whitt and Connie Franks, both of Leesburg, FL; and two grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
