GOOTMAN, Elmer L. of Taylor. Age 80. Died 3/26/1990 in Southwest Mediplex Nursing Home, Austin. Services held 3/29/1990 (Thursday) in Phillips & Luckey Chapel. Burial in Oak Lawn Cemetery. Minister Milton Pogue officiated. Phillips & Luckey Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. Mr. Gootman was BORN 2/11/1910 in Bastrop to M/M Louis Allen (Edna Caldwell) Gootman. He was a retired groundskeeper with the Taylor School District. Married Viola Hunt on 5/14/1937 in Rockdale. Preceded in death by his parents and a sister. Member of the Church of Christ. SURVIVORS: Wife, Viola Gootman of Taylor; 2 sons, Wallace Gootman and Elmer F. Gootman, both of Austin; 2 daughters, Betty Moore and Edna Sue Wolfe, both of Austin; 3 brothers, Bill Goodman of St. Louis, MO., Earnest Goodman of Franklin and Joe Goodman of California; sister, Jessie Barber of Ennis; 9 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.
