Randell was born to Allen Ervin Brown and Shirley Bernice Nay Brown and graduated from Richfield High School. While growing up he would run the projectors for Van and Madge at Huish Real Theaters. From there, he also helped manage a family bar in Richfield, until moving to Idaho Falls in 1970 driving a blue 1956 Chevrolet flatbed pickup. Randell was exceptionally skilled in all things mechanical, but his true passion was in cars. He worked as a mechanic at Ron Sayer Dodge until moving on to work as a hearing aid dealer and fitter with his step-father, Dean Laurance, and mother, Shirley. While working with hearing disabled individuals, Randell also helped his brother, Rodney, run a mechanic shop, and then was also involved in working in another shop owned by his brother-in-law, Ray, and sister, Kathy. On October 15, 1969, he married Karen Jane Brown in Idaho Falls. Karen could not resist Randell’s charm and his ability to keep her on her toes in friendly debates. Both Randell and Karen were known to race through the streets in their forest green 1968 Dodge Charger. Shortly after marrying, Randell became a reserve officer with Bonneville County Sheriff’s Department then became a sheriff’s deputy. He worked for several years as a deputy and also ran for the office of Sheriff. Randell and Karen devoted all time and energy to give their children the best they could. Randell was exceedingly proud that both of his children obtained Master’s Degrees in their fields of study. Randell spent 54 years serving the elderly and others with hearing impairments in hopes of improving their lives. He owned and operated L & B Hearing Services where he made many friends and helped countless customers. Randell devoted his knowledge to help every customer as if they were his family and worked tirelessly helping his customers right up to the day he passed. He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He enjoyed everything to do with cars, hunting, fishing, collecting, snowmobiling, and most importantly, providing lifelong memories of his adventures. Survivors beside his loving wife included: children Kenneth (Misty) Brown of Idaho Falls and Pamela Brown of Idaho Falls; fur kid Colt; grandson Jason; grand pups Tank & Lola; sister Kathy (Ray) Cook of Idaho Falls and brother Richard Brown of Boise; preceded by brother, Rodney Brown.
