Darwin Duane Bremer, son of Elmer and Josephine (Luft) Bremer was born August 5, 1940 at Frohna, Missouri. At the age of seven, he moved with his family to a farm south of Albion, NE. He attended elementary school at the Rural Plum Creek School District and then Albion High School, graduating with the class of 1958. He furthered his education at the University of Nebraska – Lincoln before working at Behlen Manufacturing in Columbus, NE. He moved back to Boone County where he worked for Jim Wolf and Otto Reich being assigned to various duties including handling the accounting with Bud Tucker. On March 22, 1963, Darwin married Teresa McManaman at St. Edward Catholic Church in St. Edward, NE. Shortly after, Darwin’s father became ill, so Darwin and Teresa took over the farming and livestock production. They continued the operation, along with selling Northrup King Seed, and living on the farm in rural St. Edward until 2004, when they moved to Albion. Darwin retired from farming around 2010 but continued to be involved by helping his son. Darwin was a member of the local Cattleman’s Association and the Albion Country Club, serving a term on the board. He enjoyed camping, golfing and fishing. He had a passion for old tractors and cars. But most of all, he loved spending time with friends and family, and watching his grandchildren in their many activities. His sense of humor was endearing, and his smile was infectious. Darwin is survived by his wife Teresa of Albion, NE; four children: Todd (Kandi) Bremer of St. Edward, NE; Laura Bremer of Lincoln, NE; Darla (Jimmy) McBee of Independence, MO; Tracy (Scott) Moss of Wood River, NE; eight grandchildren: Meredith (Corey) Cable of Bertrand, NE; Sydney Bremer of Omaha, NE: Beau Bremer (fiancé Maddie Martin) of Albion, NE; Jessica, Allison, and Samantha Moss of Kearney, NE; Reilly and Brody McBee of Independence, MO; one great-granddaughter Blake Cable and one great-grandchild on the way; along with many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
