Obituary, Kalamazoo Gazette, 6 June 1984, D8:1 McGowan, Mrs. Angie Lou 2327 Amherst Passed away June 5, 1984, Mrs. McGowan was born December 16, 1919 in Greenville, TX, the daughter of Julia Ellen and John Thomas Walker. She was an active member of the Moose lodge and a member of Parents Without Partners. Surviving are a daughter and son-in-law, Mary Ellen and Martin Murray of Goshen, IN; a daughter, Julia McGowan of Kalamazoo; a son, Hershal McGowan, Jr. of Kalamazoo; 2 grandsons, Christopher and Andrew Murray; 2 brothers and 4 sisters. She was preceded in death by her husband, Hershal, February 7, 1977. Also, by a brother, a sister and her parents. Funeral services will be held Friday at 10 a.m. at the Truesdale Chapels of The Pines, Westnedge at Milham, Rev. Richard Beckett officiating. Burial in Mt. Ever-Rest Cemetery [Kalamazoo]. Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. this evening and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday. The family suggests memorial contributions to the Michigan Heart Association.
