joe E. Landsfeld, 78, passed away in Ennis, Texas on Wednesday, January 27, 2021. Burial will be at St. Joseph's Cemetery. Joe was born on September 7, 1942, in Ennis, Texas, to the late Joe J. and Agnes (Holy) Landsfeld. He grew up in Ennis and graduated from S. John High School in 1960. He went on to attend Draughon's Business College specializing in computers. On June 29, 1963, he married Janice Skrivanek and they made their home in Ennis. Joe worked for Southland Life for two years as a computer programmer and for Wright Titus Agency for forty-three years as the head of their computer department. Joe was a faithful and devoted member of St. John Nepomucene Catholic Church. He was an active member of the KJT for 51 years and served in several capacities on the local and state level. For society #35 he was elected as recording secretary from 1970-1990, president from 1990-2010, secretary- treasurer from 2011-2017, and treasurer from 2018 until his death. He sold KJT life insurance for 51 years increasing membership from 900 to over 1200. During this time he never met a stranger and had many friends across the state. He loved his family and they were the joy of his life, he enjoyed his cattle business and deer hunting. He was preceded in death by brothers, Richard and Roland. Survivors include his wife of over 57 years, Janice E. Landsfeld; daughters, Shelly Hubacek, and Yvonne Zapletal and her husband, Danny; grandchildren: Joseph, Jonathan, Madalyn, Joshua and his wife, Jaclynn; great-grandchildren: Maddison, Hagen, and Leighton; sister, Lorraine Nash and her husband, Bill; brother, Mike Landsfeld; along with a host of extended family and friends.
