Speicher, 85, of Platte Center died Friday evening at Columbus Manor. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Monday in Trinity Lutheran Church. Rev. Paul Rowoldt officiating and burial is in Rose Lawn Cemetery. The body will lie in state 2 p.m. Sunday till noon Monday in Gass-Haney Funeral Home, and 1 p.m. till services at the church. She was born July 5, 1893, at Columbus daughter of Walter and Elizabeth Whitaker. She attended Columbus schools and was married April 20, 1921 to Peter Speicher. They lived in Columbus until moving to Platte Center in 1973. She was a member of the K.K. Klub and Trinity Lutheran church, and the family suggests memorials to the Trinity Lutheran Fund. Surving [sic] are a daughter, Mrs. Anthony (Mildred) Hassebrook of Platte Center, seven grandchildren, a great grandchild, her mother Mrs. Elizabeth Whitaker of Lincoln, and brother Walter Whitaker of Fallon, Nev. She was preceded in death by her husband and two brothers, Carl and Frank of Columbus
