WILLS POINT - Funeral services for Girtrue Williams, 84, of Tatum, are scheduled for 2 p.m. Tuesday, October 9, 2007, at Allan Fuller Funeral Home Chapel in Wills Point, with the Rev. Trey Roberson officiating. Interment will follow at Union Grove Cemetery north of Wills Point. She went to be with her Lord Friday afternoon, October 5, 2007, at a Longview hospital. Girtrue was born November 21, 1922, in Canton, Texas, the daughter of Jessie Lee Woolverton and Mary Bell Terry Woolverton. She attended public school in the Rock Hill community. On June 2, 1956, Girtrue married Auther Lee Williams in Wills Point. She was employed at Baker Clinic Hospital in Wills Point for several years as well as Terrell State Hospital. She lived in Houston and Livingston prior to making her home in Tatum. She enjoyed gardening, crafts and quilting. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Tatum. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Auther Lee Williams on February 18, 1998; daughter, Tina Ross; sister, Elsie Goggans; and four brothers, William, A.D., Van and Emmett Woolverton. Survivors include two sons, Larry Williams and wife, Sandra, of Tatum, and Cliff Williams and wife, Brenda, of New Waverley; two daughters, Laverne Ross of Tatum and Debra Boyd and husband, Roy, of Houston; two brothers, Bonnie Woolverton and wife, Jackie, of Frankston and Coy Woolverton and wife, Faye, of LaRue; sister, Marie Clark and husband, Earl, of Wills Point; nine grandchildren, Cindy and Bill Redmon, Tege and Richard Millikin, Chris and Tilley Ross, Renea and Bobby Power, Melissa Williams, Jennifer Williams, Gregory Williams, Kim and Pete Theodorsn, and Grant and Deena Williams; 16 great-grandchildren, Heather, Matthew and Morgan Redmon, Tanya, Jacob and wife, Amber, and Stephen Ross, Ryan and Connor Millikin, Michael and Stephanie Power, Christina Blundell and husband, Jared, Caleb Williams, Christopher and Caleb Hoot, and Evan and Erik Theodorsn; and numerous nephews, nieces and friends.
