Lessie Marie Woolverton, seventh of nine children, was born to Jessie and Mary Bell (Terry) Woolverton on April 9, 1931 near Canton. She grew up near Wills Point where she attended school. Marie married Earl Clark on June 30, 1954 in Wills Point. They raised their four daughters on their beloved farm just east of Wills Point. First, she sewed from necessity; soon she became proficient and made beautiful dresses for her girls and matching shirts for family outings. She also sewed over 7 years at Malouf's Dress Factory in Wills Point. Marie taught adult Sunday school at First Baptist Church of Wills Point for many years. Her loving husband of 65 years, Earl Clark, preceded her in death on May 11, 2020.
