Bio
Alma McElyea was born in Texas and married Sidney Taylor Stratton on August 4, 1897 in Hunt County, Texas. They were the parents of Freddie, Mildred, Bela, Arlie, Lucy, Eurcil and Frankie. She was survived by two sons, Arlie and Eurcil Stratton, both of Dallas; four daughters, Mrs Austin Langford of Quinlan. Texas, Mrs Bradford Nalls of Greenville, Texas, Mrs Mickie Flynn of Haddon Heights, New Jersey, Mrs Brodie Walden of Dallas; two sisters, Mrs B.A. McLain of Ft Worth, Mrs Minnie Stratton of Wagner, Texas; twelve grandchildren; eighteen great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. Pre-deceased by a son, Freddie Gerald Stratton . Chapel services were at Troy Suggs Funeral Home on Monday, May 25, 1964, Rev J.L. Hyde and Rev Sam Smith officiating. Pallbearers were James McCracken, Roland Stratton, Pat and Phillip Wood, Norwood and Verdene Nalls. Source: Newsbank - Dallas Morning News, May 25, 1964.
