Alexandria Daily Town Talk (LA) - August 16, 2003 Deceased Name: Mattie Wisby Nugent Services for Mattie Wisby Nugent will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 16, 2003, at Hixson Funeral Home Chapel, DeRidder, with Revs. Roger Gill and James Johnson officiating. Burial will be in Wisby Cemetery, Cravens, La., under the direction of Hixson Funeral Home of DeRidder.Mattie Nugent, 93, of Pitkin, died Thursday, Aug. 14, 2003, in Beauregard Memorial Hospital, DeRidder. Visitation will be from 8 a.m. until time of service at the funeral home. She was born in Pitkin and was a lifelong resident of the area. She was a member of Wisby Memorial Baptist Church. Survivors include her sons, Fred Wisby of DeRidder, Willard Wisby of Gulfport, Miss., J.C. Wisby of Tulsa, Okla., Thomas Wisby of DeRidder and Ronald Wisby of Leesville daughters, Bernice Burgess of Longville and Nona Cole of Pitkin brother, Clyde Perkins of Pitkin sisters, Hattie Doyle of Pitkin and Amy Thompson of Rosepine 29 grandchildren 39 great-grandchildren six great-great-grandchildren and numerous step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren.
