Daughter of: William Alexander and Dianna Miranda Crawford Hall Wife of: Dr. Edward Wayne Hawthorne Mother of: Vera Wave, Nola Mae, Dorris Dianna, Majorie Wayne, and Bertha Marowyn Bertha Brazelton Hall Hawthorne (March 16, 1866 - July 6, 1939) Mrs. E. W. Hawthorne, 73, a resident of Anahuac, Texas for the past 3 years but formerly of Gypsum, Kansas, died yesterday morning at the McPherson County Hospital, following an operation Monday from which she failed to recover. Funeral services will be held Sunday afternoon at 5 o'clock at the Methodist Church of Gypsum. The Order of Eastern Star services will be held at the grave. Interment will be made in the Gypsum Cemetery. The body will lie in state at the church Sunday afternoon from4 until 5 o'clock. The casket will not be opened during the service. Mrs. Hawthorne, the widow of the late Dr. E. W. Hawthorne, was a sister of Mrs. W.E. Gregory and the late Dr. J. C. Hall of this city (McPherson). She is also survived by five daughters, Mrs. Vera Jones, Canton; Mrs. Nola Williamson, Milwaukee, Wisconsin; Mrs. Dorris Hesher, Gypsum; Ms. Marjorie Hawthorne of the home; and Mrs. Marowyn Flinn, Monroe City, Texas; a brother. W. D. Hall of Boulder, Colorado; a sister, Mrs. Ola McBride, Lyons, and eight grandchildren.
