Bio

Clarence Ewell Slemp was born April 13, 1913 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; one of five sons born to Samuel Montague "Mont" Slemp and Hallie Elvirey (Anderson) Slemp. The family lived in Southeast Oklahoma City. His father was a County Clerk and a cigarette license verifier. His older brother Samuel Garland Slemp was killed by accidental gunshot wound in a hunting accident when he was 18. Three years later his father was killed in a similar accident. Clarence married Patsy Virginia Blake in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma on January 14, 1931. They had one daughter, Gail Lene in 1932 and were divorced in 1935. He later married Leveda Schmidt May 17, 1949 in Los Angeles County, California. Clarence died in Van Nuys, Los Angeles County, California on May 27, 1984. Contributor: Peggy Barnett 48791192
