She is the daughter of Oscar Samuel Thompson (1875-1942) and Janie Sides (1875-1966). She first married C. J. Pearson, Jr. They have one daughter. She then married Gordon Wight Parkhill, Sr on May 28, 1959 in El Paso County, Texas. They divorced on September 23, 1969 in El Paso County, Texas. 1930 Census: She was living in Dallas, Dallas, Texas with her parents and daughter. She was divorced. She was working as a clerical clerk in an office. She could read and write. 1940 Census: She was living in Dallas, Dallas, Texas with her mother and daughter. She was working as a stenographer in a wholesale hat store. It states the highest grade level she completed was 11th grade. Cause of death: Cardio-vascular failure due to arteriosclerotic heart disease. Published in El Paso Times on May 30, 1980, Page 14: Dorothy Thompson Parkhill, of 4116 Towngate Blvd. in Garland, Texas passed away Wednesday May 28, 1980. Survived by daughter Dorothy Kopel of Garland, Texas. Brothers Colguitt S. Thompson, Hobbys Thompson both of Dallas. Grandchildren Cynthia Head, Stephen Marshall, Lyle Marshall all of Dallas. Two great grandchildren. Services 3:30 PM Friday at Restland Wildwood Chapel, Father Ronald White officiating. Entombment in Restland Memorial Park.
