Corsicana Daily Sun, Corsicana, Texas April 10, 2013 Mary E. Richards Corsicana Daily Sun Corsicana — Mrs. Mary E. Richards, 83, of Corsicana went to be with the Lord Monday, April 8, 2013 at Heritage Oaks Retirement Village in Corsicana. She was born Oct. 17, 1929 in Angus to parents Thomas and Auba Cox. She attended Corsicana High School and married Dorsey in 1946. She was a devoted wife and mother, and enjoyed 29 years of retirement in Corsicana. She loved working in the garden and quilting. She made over 100 baby quilts for family and friends. One of the highlights of the yearly Richards Family Reunion was the beautiful full-size quilt that she made, along with her sister Faye, which sold through a raffle to eager participants. The quilt raised hundreds of dollars for the family reunion fund each year. She was a member of Northside Baptist Church, and served as the Dorcas class treasurer. Her friends and relatives considered her the “sweetest person they know.” She was preceded in death by her husband, Dorsey Richards, and her parents. She is survived by her sister, Faye Richards; daughter and son-in-law, Lou and Norman Archibald; son and daughter-in-law, David and Molly Richards; granddaughters, Amy and Scott Harp and Nina Walker. She is also survived by her precious great-grandchildren, Lark and Austin Walker and Hank and Ty Harp. Visitation with the family was held from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, April 10, 2013 at Corley Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, April 11, 2013 at the Corley Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Rick Lamb officiating. Interment will follow in the Hamilton-Beeman Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Larry Fuller, Billy Richards, Bob Luther, James Richards, Buddy Richards, Danny Richards, and Derwood Richards.
