Bio
Nona “Faye” Richards, 94, of Corsicana, went to be with the Lord on Monday, December 25, 2017 at Heritage Oaks Retirement Village. She was born May 20, 1923 in Angus,Texas to parents Thomas and Auba Cox. . Faye and her husband of 57 years, Clyde, owned a small wholesale business, and for years sold candy to small stores in the area around Corsicana. Many days she would accompany her husband on his candy route. She was a member of Providence Primitive Baptist Church in Corsicana where her husband served as a deacon for 40 years. Faye loved creating things with her hands. She, along with her sister Mary, was an avid quilter. They made over 100 baby quilts for family and friends. One of the highlights of the Richards Family Reunion was the beautiful, full size quilts they made, which were sold through raffle to family members. The quilts raised hundreds of dollars for the family reunion fund each year. Faye also loved to cross stitch, embroidery, and crochet. She also spent many hours working jigsaw puzzles. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Clyde, and her two sisters, Mary E. Richards and Laura R. Smith. She is survived by many nieces and nephews including Lou Archibald, David Richards, and Jackie Nicholson. She will also be missed by close friends Linda Fannin and Karen Hammond. The family would like to thank Heritage Oaks Retirement Village nurses and staff for their care and concern for Faye for the past 3 years. Visitation with the family will be at 1 p.m. at Corley Funeral Home on Thursday, December 28 prior to the funeral services which will at Corley Funeral Home at 2 p.m. with Elder Travis Brown officiating. Interment will follow at Hamilton Beeman Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Larry Fuller, Billy Richards, Bob Luther, James Richards, Buddy Richards, Danny Richards, and Derwood Richards
