Obit-Daily Republic-Sept 20, 2007 Arthur Elwood Garben Sept 30, 1928 - Sept 16, 2007 Arthur Elwood Garben, age 78, a long-time Fairfield resident, died on Sept 16, 2007, in Fairfield. Mr. Garben was born on Sept 30, 1928, in San Francisco to Arthur and Elaine Swanson Garben. He was an insurance and real estate developer for over 50 years. Arthur was a long-time member of the Green Valley Country Club and member of the Fairfield Elks Lodge. He was an avid duck hunter and world traveler. Arthur was preceded in death by his loving wife of 49 years, Waunita, who died in 1999. He is survived by his children, John P. Garben (Vanessa) of Fairbanks, Alaska, Arthur E. Garben Jr. (Sue) of Green Valley and Edward C. Garben of Olympia, Wash: grandchildren, Derek Garben of Colorado, Christopher Garben of Alaska, Jason Garben, Kerry Paulson and Greg Garben, all of California and sister, Betty Mason (Roy) of Green Valley.--------------------------------------------
